Today’s Fun Fact: My First Computer

Today’s Fun Fact: My First Computer

My first computer was a Packard Bell that I purchased from Sears way back in 1995 for 2 thousand dollars. It had a speedy 66mhz processor, a 80MB hard drive, and 1 MB of built in video RAM (upgradable to 2 MB). My first games for it were Doom 2, MechWarrior 2, and Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. I learned how to create my first websites on that computer. That computer changed my life.

If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor

If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor

Bruce Campbell has worked as an actor, producer, writer, and director for over 30 year in feature films and television. The character that put Bruce on the map was the role of Ash Williams, a wise-cracking everyman hero, in the 1981 horror film classic, Evil Dead. Bruce has been called a B-movie icon, cult film star, and The Chin, but after reading his book I will forever think of Bruce Campbell as the Working Man’s Actor.   I grew up […]

Evil Dead 2013 Review

Evil Dead 2013 Review

Evil Dead 2013 is based off the 1980’s Evil Dead franchise, but it is essentially it’s own film. It’s hard, if not impossible, to review this film without comparing it to the previous Evil Dead films. The originals were campy, layered with dark humor, and filled with exaggerated gore effects. The 2013 version drops the campy humor and approaches the franchise with ultra realistic visuals. Not everyone will be happy with these changes.   The movie’s tagline follows Evil Dead […]

Starting a Business

Starting a Business

Starting a business is not as hard as people make it. Nothing needs to be overly complicated. Success breaks down to 4 questions. 1. Have you identified a problem a customer wants to see solved? 2. Does your product/service solve this customer’s need? 3. If yes, do you have a viable and profitable business model? 4. Have you learned enough to go out and sell? That’s it. Simple. Find a customer with a need. Fill that need. Repeat. Profit$$$

The Real Ghostbusters Complete Collection

The Real Ghostbusters Complete Collection

There was a time, now long forgotten, when cartoons dominated Saturday mornings. Kids, and adults, would wake up and watch Transformers, G. I. Joe, The Smurfs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Superfriends, Thundercats, The Real Ghostbusters, and many others. It was a golden age of animation, and for many different reasons, that age past away. The end of Saturday morning cartoons was a great loss of entertainment. It is not only nostalgia that brings us back to these shows. These animated […]

An Army of Darkness Sequel

An Army of Darkness Sequel

This is my BOOM STICK! According to this Nerdist Article Army of Darkness will get a sequel written and directed by Sam Raimi. There will be a total of seven Evil Dead movies when they are finished. Not only will Army of Darkness be getting a sequel written and directed by Sam Raimi, but the remake that hits theaters today will be getting a separate sequel from Fede Alvarez. The biggest news came when Bruce Campbell told the crowd of […]

My Thoughts on American Buisness

My Thoughts on American Buisness

As a supervisor I stand on the front line between upper management and the employees. It didn’t take long to identify a major flaw in our business relationship. Upper management wants the best employees available. Okay, that makes sense. Businesses strive for high achievers in the workforce, but what’s the reward for high achievers? Well, more work of course. And where does this work come from? It comes from the under achievers – the workers who are not doing their […]

Team Hershel / The Walking Dead

Team Hershel / The Walking Dead

I promised a Cincinnati HorrorHound review, but I’ve decided against posting a review. Instead I’m going to write about a single experience. During the chaos and confusion of the HorrorHound Convention I had a brief encounter with actor Scott Wilson (Hershel on The Walking Dead). It was probably around 1pm on Saturday, but the day already felt long. We got up early to drive a couple hours to the sold-out Horrorhound Convention. We stood in a long line to get […]

Dexter Blood Slide Coasters

Dexter Blood Slide Coasters

The Dexter Blood Slide coasters are one of the best Christmas gifts I received last year. The set includes six heavy duty glass coasters. Each coaster is decorated with a unique blood splatter designed to resemble the blood slides that Dexter takes from his victims. The coasters have rubberized feet underneath to protect your furniture from scratches, and to prevent the coasters from sliding.   This is an officially licensed Dexter collectible. The coasters comes with a wooden trophy box […]
